Pluto & Charon flyover

le 15 juillet à 08:20 #

Using NASA's New Horizons data, mission scientists created flyover movies of Pluto and its largest moon Charon. The New Horizons spacecraft sent back to Earth the first close-up pictures of Pluto and its moons in July 2015. The flyover movies offer spectacular new perspectives of the many unusual features, using actual New Horizons data and digital elevation models of Pluto and its largest moon Charon. Digital mapping and rendering were performed by Paul Schenk and John Blackwell of the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston. All feature names in the Pluto system are informal.
